Emergency Unit Heading To The Big Screen

Emergenct UnitHong Kong TV Network giant, TVB have announced that they are developing a new movie based around Michael Tse’s character of ‘Laughing Gor’ from the hit television series, ‘Emergency Unit’.

The film version is set to be a prequel to the show and will boast an all-star cast that includes Anthony Wong, Francis Ng and Felix Wong. TVB recently hosted an event for ten different internet-based Fan Club’s so that they could submit ideas for the movie. The gathering also gave them a chance to meet members of the cast which included Michael Tse, Ron Ng, Chen Shan-cong, King Kong, and Miu Kiu-wai.

When the character of ‘Laughing Gor’ was killed off in the show the response was immense, with Fan Club’s attracting more that 15,000 members. Co-star Miu Kiu-wai even joked about it with Tse, saying, “It was worth it for you to die! The earlier episodes of Emergency Unit did not have high ratings. But once your character died, many audience members tuned in. You should have died earlier!” Nice!
