Gordon Liu Stars in Bollywood Actioner!
![]()
Shaw Brothers kung-fu legend Gordon Liu tells us that production has just recently wrapped on the new Bollywood action movie that he is appearing in.
Since May Gordon has been on location in Beijing, China and Bangkok, Thailand for the upcoming Warner Brothers production CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, an action comedy starring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
FILM SYNOPSIS: From the hustle-bustle of Chandni Chowk to the hutongs of Beijing, the electric energy of Shanghai and sheer breathtaking Chinese landscapes, Chandni Chowk To China chronicles the lunatic adventures of a hapless simpleton cook from Delhi. As he goes to seek his destiny, he finds himself thrown into a crazy world of megalomaniac villains, femme fatales, crazy inventors, Chinese mysticism and outlandish kung-fu assassins!
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty, Gordon Liu
Director: Nikhli Advani
Producer: Warner Brothers
Genre: Action
Release Date: 29-10-2008
Despite the fact that Chandni Chowk To China is a Bollywood film is does rely heavily on Hong Kong style martial arts and we’ll take a further look at the project and Gordon’s involvement in Jade Screen later in the year.

It’s wonderful to see Gordon Liu going strong. I remember back in the mid-80s when I first saw him in Heroes of the East on VHS (although it was released in the UK on the old Warner Home Video label as Shaolin Challenges Ninja)…

Akshay Kumar is a big fan of Jackie Chan and hong kong cinema in general. It should be good to see 2 different styles of cinema come together
