In conjunction with Jade Screen: The Hong Kong Movie Magazine we staged an incredible day of Hong Kong movie action in London with a living legend!

On Saturday, May 5th 2007 the audience of 40-plus sat down to watch Richard Ng on the big screen and then were treated to a 2 hour ‘Question & Answer’ session with the man himself, followed by photos and a signed copy of the ultimate publication (Jade Screen, obviously!)

Richard Ng is a veteran of over 100 Hong Kong movies and easily one of the most recognisable faces on Hong Kong cinemas jade screen.

I just wanted to congratulate you on an excellent event on Saturday. My husband Michael and I really enjoyed meeting up with you and other ‘friends’ again. The whole day was fantastic and it was brilliant watching those films on the big screen. As for Richard Ng - What a wonderful, warm and genuine person he was - he really seemed to relax and enjoy himself.

The informal question and answer session contributed greatly to the day and provided a great insight into Richard’s feelings and thoughts about his past and current career and the state of Hong Kong cinema. It amazes me that nearly all these ’stars’ from Hong Kong can not believe that they have fans in Britain who love to meet them it’s as though they are not worth of having supporters, which is ridiculous.

We are greatly anticipating the next UK event and hope it won’t be too long to wait. We look forward to seeing you there.

Just a short note to thank you for putting on the event with Richard Ng on Saturday. My sister and I did enjoy the day (what comfortable seats they were in the screening room!). Listening to Richard talking about his life and how things used to be was fascinating (including the little tidbit about Jackie Chan taking his wife and son to Barcelona with him to film Wheels on Meals - which I’m sure not too many of us knew about!).

Anyway, once again many thanks, we do appreciate all the work that goes into organising these events and hope you’ll be able to organise many more in the years to come!
