Legend of Shaolin Kung-fu II: Thirteen Cudgel Monks
Yuen Biao has been busy of late working on Legend of Shaolin Kung-fu II: Thirteen Cudgel Monks alongside Leung “Beardy” Kar-yan. There will be a detailed article on the new up and coming martial arts release in Jade Screen this Summer but in the meantime we can take a sneak peak for the website along with some on set photographs.
Yuen Biao plays Tan Zong who is responsible for assembling 12 other monks to form Thirteen Cudgel Monks at the famed Shaolin temple to deal with Wang Shi Chong.
70s Kung-fu film legend Leung Kar-yan plays the antagonist Wang Shi Chong, a cunning, greedy, vicious, merciless general of Sui who later usurps the throne. He throws his weight about in the court and oppresses the populace. He bans martial arts practice in order to forestall any future threats.
The martial arts director on set is none other than Yuen Bun.

Yuen Biao is an amazingly talented actor and is always convincing. And not only for his early acrobatics, martial art moves and and charm. He has aged well and was brilliant recently in Wing Chun. I hope he keeps working and gets offered better parts than he’s been given in some movies in the past. It’s always a pleasure to watch him and we don’t see enough of him.
