Michelle Yeoh: The Sword And The Martial Arts World

Michelle YeohAfter taking a break from the genre, Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) will be back in action for a new old-school Kung-fu movie. Tentatively titled The Sword And The Martial Arts World, the film is being co-directed by John Woo and Taiwan filmmaker Su Chao-pin (Silk).

Yeoh originally made a name for herself in Hong Kong as an action star but her recent roles in Memoirs of a Geisha and Far North have veered toward drama. However, the 46-year-old actress said she still feels fit enough to handle action.

“I don’t let age limit me,” Yeoh said, adding she chose those projects because she enjoyed the stories, not because they were less physically taxing. The film will be Woo’s first new project since his US$80-million epic ‘Red Cliff’.

So cool! After Red Cliff I definitely want to see a big John Woo Martial Arts-style film.
