Sammo To Direct Two New Films

Sammo Hung

At the premiere of his latest film ‘Wushu’, Sammo Hung revealed that he plans to direct two new films in 2009. Although he was reluctant to reveal specific details, he did confirm that one would be an action/drama starring himself, whilst the other is an action/comedy starring his son, Timmy Hung.

As for this year, Hung is slated to star in the upcoming comedy ‘He Would Be King’ which goes into production next month. The plotline is rumoured to star Zhao Chang Jun as a retired police officer who would prefer to live out the rest of his days running a foot-wash shop. However, his dream is put in jeopardy when a real estate agent boss (Kung Fu Hustle’s Bruce Liang) learns of his hidden martial arts ability and decides to put him to the test.

Meanwhile, Jackie Chan also took the time to confirm to the assembled media that he was currently working on the ‘New Shaolin Temple‘ television series which features winners and finalists from ‘The Disciple’.
